Judith M., Dec 3, 2008, 1:37PM ESTHello Mike, Seems we have quite a bit in common. I too have a PBS radio. It's just a daily 1 minute and it's local. Brand new. It's a spiritual message but I'm an athiest too, by most definitions. It's what makes my spiritual minute interesting. I love classical music, studied it at the Curtis Inst. Sorry, I don't like jazz. I've got a book recommendation for you. "The 99th Monkey" by Eliezar Sobel. He's a good writer and the book is fun to read. Sobel has spent much of his life chasing spiritual rainbows and getting nowhere. If you like opera, you'll love Baz Leurman's Austrailian production of "La Boheme". Saw it on Ovation TV. They repeat everything dozens of times so you'll be able to catch it. At last, a tenor who is really good and looks like Rudolpho. What do you tak about on your talk show? By the way, I also spent time in DC, at American U. But my degree is from Swarthmore College. Ping me when you can and if you'd like.

Jeff Reid, Dec 3, 2008, 12:44AM ESTHello, Mr. Cuthbert.
We have a unique website you and other book reviewers ought to know about. It's called Storycasting (www.storycasting.com), and it celebrates the emerging hobby of "fantasy casting". People start with a book, select main characters, and then "cast" the roles using current film and TV stars. Each cast is a vote for that actor in that role, and the favorites rise up to become the Top Cast. Over 40 authors have come on the site and cast their own works; hot right now is Patrick Rothfuss (The Name of the Wind). These books might not become Hollywood movies (although several have); it's more "for the movie in your mind". Take a look at the site, and then remember it the next time someone asks about new ways to enjoy the books they read - or teach about them.
